Hanmer's Licensed Lay Minister
Licensed Lay Ministers (LLMs), also known as Readers, play a vital role in the life of our Mission Area. They are lay people who have been trained and authorised by the Church to lead, teach, and support the worshipping community.
They regularly lead services, preach, and assist with pastoral care, working alongside clergy to support the spiritual life of our churches. Many also take on specific responsibilities within their local church or across the wider Mission Area.
LLMs bring a wealth of experience, insight, and commitment, offering a different but complementary perspective to ordained ministry.

Bill Barlow
Bill is a Licensed Lay Minister at Hanmer Church. He has given many faithful years of service to the church, and has made outstanding contributions to the life and ministry of the church, and the Mission Area. He leads Morning Worship on a monthly basis and writes the Hanmer Articles for the Mission Area Magazine.
St Chad's Church Team
St Chad's is supported by a wonderful team of people who give their time, energy, and care to keep everything running day to day. This includes churchwardens, secretaries, treasurers, organists:

Olive Birch
Organist
Olive has given many faithful years of service to the church, and has recently received royal Maundy Money honours at St Asaph Cathedral in 2026 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the life and ministry of the church, and the Mission Area. She regulalrly plays the organ for Sunday Services as well as Weddings and Funerals.
There are many others not mentioned here who quietly make a huge difference.
They help organise services, support worship, look after our buildings, and keep things running behind the scenes, often taking on more than one role, they are at the heart of church life in each community.
Their dedication helps create welcoming, friendly churches where people feel at home.
We are hugely thankful for all that they do and the part they play in the life of St Chad's and our Mission Area.
